If you’re entering this blog, you may wonder: why veganism? Why should I care?

There are many reasons to go vegan, but they will be different for each of us. In this blog post, we’ll talk about the health aspect of veganism.

Some do it for health reasons. Plant based diets is proved to, among other things, lower risks of heart attacks, cardiovascular illnesses and some forms of cancer. Animal products are the only source of cholesterol in our diet. As we all know, high cholesterol is a main factor of a lot of lifestyle health issues. Lowering the intake of animal products, or cutting them out completely, will therefore naturally lower the amount of cholesterol in our bodies.

The Standard American Diet (SAD) and other western diets are notoriously low in fruits and vegetables, and in return high in cholesterol, saturated fats and processed foods. Going vegan will most likely get you to eat a lot more healthy. This is because, when removing animal products, you have to use vegetables as a bigger part of your diet. You’ll learn to explore the world of plant based recipes and to use produce in completely new ways!
